The Story So Far...
My professional journey has taken me through diverse hands-on trades, each building the skills and resourcefulness that now define Forge and Honey.
I began my career in the automotive industry as a general auto technician, where for 14 years I worked on a wide range of vehicles—from modern Aston Martins to vintage Ford Model Ts. This experience honed my precision, problem-solving abilities, and appreciation for craftsmanship.
Seeking new challenges, I transitioned into sheet metal fabrication, a field I have dedicated the past 10 years to, further developing my expertise in working with metals and materials.
When the early days of the pandemic brought uncertainty to traditional employment, I turned to entrepreneurship. Drawing on my earlier experience with blacksmithing, I invested in basic equipment, crafted additional tools, and began creating hand-forged pieces. As my family grew and my workspace evolved, I sought a more sustainable path.
One evening, while commuting home from my day job, inspiration struck: repurpose the beeswax I had been using to protect steel in my blacksmithing work into hand-poured candles. A quick visit to a local craft store and a few experimental (and admittedly messy) sessions in the kitchen confirmed it—this was a direction worth pursuing.
Over the following years, I immersed myself in the craft, studying extensively through books and hands-on practice. Today, I create premium beeswax candles that blend natural purity with thoughtful artistry.
Looking ahead, I am actively building toward establishing my own apiary. This next chapter will allow me to source beeswax directly from responsibly managed hives, ensuring the highest quality while supporting pollinator health and sustainability.
Thank you for joining me on this evolving journey. Each candle is handcrafted with care, drawing from years of skilled trades and a deep respect for natural materials.
